Standards en formación. Reciben una hora de sol. Están intercalados con otras plantas para que el sol no caliente las macetas que, por otra parte, son blancas.
La tercera es el chupón grande. Ahora mide 1 m.

Standards being formed. They are hit by the sun during one hour. They are interleaved with other plants to avoid the sun warming up the pots which, in turn, are white.
The third one is the large sucker. Now it is 1 m. high.

	SOPORTES
	Este standard está en el tercer año. El año pasado estuvo plantado en el suelo en otro sitio y quedó vacío por su parte posterior. Ahora está llenándose con nuevas ramas. Observar el soporte que lo sujeta a la pared (más abajo hay una foto de un soporte).

	Abajo a la izquierda hay una fuchsia triphylla (Thalia) con hojas oscuras, en forma de arbusto, también trasplantada aquí hace poco tiempo. Para el trasplante se podó dejando las ramas a 20 cm. A la derecha, las flores de otro standard (Swanley yellow).

	SUPPORTS
	This standard is on its third year. Last year it was planted on the ground somewhere else and grew with the back side remaining empty. Now it's filling this space with new branches. Please note the support bolted to the wall (a picture of a support follows).

	Down left there is a triphylla (Thalia) with dark leaves, growing as a bush, also recently moved to this place. For moving it all the branches were pruned to 20 cm. length. To the right, the flowers of another standard (Swanley yellow).


		Soporte de tubo de cobre (no se oxida) doblado y sujeto a la pared con tornillos inoxidables. "Hecho en casa".
		Copper tube support (does not rust) bent and bolted to the wall with stainless screws. "Home made".

Recuerda: el problema principal de los standards es el riesgo de accidentes mecánicos. El tallo debe estar siempre adecuadamente atado a un tutor que, por otra parte, debe estar firmemente asegurado para que no vuelque o se rompa. También es importante irlos pinzando continuamente y, al final del invierno, darles una poda moderada.

Remember: the main problem of standards is the risk of mechanical accidents. The stem is to be always tied to a tutor which, in turn, has to be firmly secured so it does not tilt or break. It is also important to keep on pinching them all the time and, at the end of winter, prune them moderately.
